WE WANT YOUR CAT FIXED AND WE HOPE YOU DO, TOO.  Please don't wait! Beat the heat and help create a safer community for our animals by getting yours' fixed!

The time has finally come! You can get ANY cat in Jackson County fixed for just $20! (+ $10 for rabies) *Proof of residence required*

From December 2013 through December 2015, Catman2 spayed/neutered over 700 cats courtesy of a grant funded by PetSmart Charities in collaboration with our buddies at ARF (Humane Society of Jackson County).  We then began offering $35 surgeries which included a rabies vaccine. Starting in June 2019, we have dropped our spay/neuter price to the lowest price ever at just $20 (+ $10 for a rabies vaccine). This extra deep discount will continue until funds run out. Microchips (only during surgery!) are available for $15. Donations in excess of the discounted fee are extremely appreciated and help continue our discounted s/n program.

Catman2 has a monthly cats-only trip via ARF going to ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic which does large volume spay/neuter each day! In March 2014, they provided over 1,880 spay/neuter surgeries!

  • The cats leave once a month at ARF on a Monday at 8am (the same day and time each time) and come back Tuesday at 12:30 (the same day and time each time). We can take feral cats if you trap them (we can usually rent traps out, and we are often very willing to help, especially with large volume TNR).
  • We can fix kittens as early as 12 weeks/3 pounds  – If the cat has no proof of rabies vaccination, they must receive a vaccine ($10). Additional vaccines (feline distemper) are available) for a fee of $10/vaccine.
  • There is no additional charge if the cat is pregnant or in heat.
  • You better sign up ASAP! Since we can only register 40 cats on the trip, they fill up pretty fast. Don’t delay! HOW TO SIGN UP:
  • You can now register for these services online! Alternately, you can come down to our partner ARF Humane Society’ of Jackson County's building at Bridge Park in Sylva, NC on Saturdays from 1-3 to see us and sign up. Bring proof of Jackson County address (mail, lease, driver’s license, etc). Payment is due during sign-ups - exact cash or check, please.
  • If your cat has a current rabies vaccination, you must bring paper certificate proof (not just the tag) so we can verify and make a copy to send with the paperwork. Otherwise, you will have to pay for your cat to have an additional vaccine.

Mavis was in trouble - she was a pregnant stray, unwanted in a neighborhood already overrun with her previous litters who were now feral. The cats were being shot because they were breeding more and disturbing residents. A kind person contacted us to help fix her to  prevent more unwanted kittens to suffer there. Mavis came to live at Catman2 and was adopted into a loving home. Spay/neuter saves lives!
The services we are providing cost us an average $60 or more. If we have helped you or someone you know with free or low-cost spay/neuter, please consider making a donation of whatever you can give to help us continue providing these essential services to our community.
