Fewer Litters. More Lives Saved.
Low Cost Spay/Neuter
Fixing cats prevents suffering before it begins.
Catman2 partners with ARF, the Humane Society of Jackson County, to provide one of the lowest cost spay and neuter programs in Western North Carolina. Our mission is simple: fix more cats, prevent unwanted litters and create a safer community for animals.

**The new drop-off/pick-up location for spay/neuter appointments is the parking lot of the
Jackson County Animal Shelter at 84 Green Energy Park Rd Sylva, NC 28779. ***
Our collaborative low-cost spay/neuter program with ARF is hugely popular due to the low price and we are often booked out for several weeks to months in advance. Please be patient and help us not waste appointments by calling us ASAP if something comes up and you won’t be able to come to your pet’s appointment. 828-293-0892. If the forms are disabled, we are booked out as far as we have appointment dates and are waiting for the clinic to give us future dates. Please check back regularly to insure you get an appointment as soon as the forms reopen.
WE WANT YOUR CAT FIXED AND WE HOPE YOU DO, TOO. Please don’t wait! Beat the heat and help create a safer community for our animals by getting your pets fixed!
From December 2013 through December 2015, Catman2 spayed/neutered over 700 cats courtesy of a grant funded by PetSmart Charities in collaboration with our buddies at ARF (Humane Society of Jackson County). We then began offering $35 surgeries which included a rabies vaccine.
Starting in June 2019, we have dropped our spay/neuter price to the lowest price ever at just $20 (+ $5 for a rabies vaccine). This extra deep discount will continue until funds run out. Microchips (only during surgery!) are available for $10. Donations in excess of the discounted fee are extremely appreciated and help continue our discounted s/n program.
Pricing at a Glance
• Spay or neuter surgery — $20
• Rabies vaccine (if needed) — $5

Why Spay/Neuter Matters
Spaying and neutering your cat:
• Prevents unwanted litters
• Helps reduce community cat overpopulation
• Improves long term health and lifespan
• Protects neighborhood cats from hardship
From 2013 to 2015 alone, over 700 cats were fixed through grant funding. In 2025, 380 surgeries were completed, including 130 feral cats safely returned through TNR efforts.
Every cat fixed is a life improved and one fewer litter that may struggle on the streets.
Support the Program
While we charge only $20 per surgery, the actual cost averages $60 or more per cat.
If you are able, donations above the discounted fee are greatly appreciated and help us continue offering these essential services to our community.
Every donation helps keep this service available for local families and community cats right here in Western North Carolina.
