***The new drop-off/pick-up location for spay/neuter appointments is the parking lot of the Jackson County Animal Shelter at 84 Green Energy Park Rd Sylva, NC 28779. ***

Our collaborative low-cost spay/neuter program with ARF is hugely popular due to the low price and we are often booked out for several weeks to months in advance. Please be patient and help us not waste appointments by calling us ASAP if something comes up and you won't be able to come to your pet's appointment. 828-293-0892. If the forms are disabled, we are booked out as far as we have appointment dates and are waiting for the clinic to give us future dates. Please check back regularly to insure you get an appointment as soon as the forms reopen.

WE WANT YOUR CAT FIXED AND WE HOPE YOU DO, TOO.  Please don't wait! Beat the heat and help create a safer community for our animals by getting your pets fixed!

From December 2013 through December 2015, Catman2 spayed/neutered over 700 cats courtesy of a grant funded by PetSmart Charities in collaboration with our buddies at ARF (Humane Society of Jackson County).  We then began offering $35 surgeries which included a rabies vaccine.
Starting in June 2019, we have dropped our spay/neuter price to the lowest price ever at just $20 (+ $5 for a rabies vaccine). This extra deep discount will continue until funds run out. Microchips (only during surgery!) are available for $10. Donations in excess of the discounted fee are extremely appreciated and help continue our discounted s/n program.

  • Starting in October 2023: The animals leave usually twice a month at Jackson County Animal Shelter on a Monday at 7:45AM (the same day and time each time) and come back Tuesday at 11:45AM  (always on a Monday/Tuesday). We can take feral cats if you trap them in a humane trap, and usually can loan out traps for this purpose.
  • We can fix kittens as early as 12 weeks/3 pounds  – If the cat has no proof of rabies vaccination, they must receive a vaccine ($5). Additional vaccines (feline distemper) are available for a fee of $10.
  • Microchips are now just $10 (animals must be having surgery in order to get them, sorry!). We highly recommend that your pet get microchipped.
  • There is no additional charge if the cat is pregnant or in heat.
  • You better sign up ASAP! Since we can only register a dozen cats on the trip, they fill up pretty fast. Don’t delay! HOW TO SIGN UP:
  • You can now register for these services online! Payment is due during registration and is non-refundable.
  • If your cat has a current rabies vaccination, you must bring paper certificate proof (not just the tag) so we can verify and make a copy to send with the paperwork. Otherwise, you will have to pay for your cat to have an additional vaccine.

Mavis was in trouble - she was a pregnant stray, unwanted in a neighborhood already overrun with her previous litters who were now feral. The cats were being shot because they were breeding more and disturbing residents. A kind person contacted us to help fix her to  prevent more unwanted kittens to suffer there. Mavis came to live at Catman2 and was adopted into a loving home. Spay/neuter saves lives!
The services we are providing cost us an average $60 or more. If we have helped you or someone you know with free or low-cost spay/neuter, please consider making a donation of whatever you can give to help us continue providing these essential services to our community.
